Hi friends happy first day of summer.
Summer finally arrived this weekend and with the forecasted high temperatures and sunny days we took full advantage.
We spent Saturday morning doing exactly what I like to do drinking coffee and watching cartoons, eventually I’ll add Saturday morning workouts to that list once again but until my little night owl decides to give me a few additional hours of sleep I shall enjoy my slow mornings. When Elle woke up from her morning nap we headed to the market to pick up our usual market haul of eggs, milk, vegetable, cookies, lemonade and a special addition this week, Alia spotted them first LOCAL STRAWBERRIES ARE BACK. YUMMM
After a few errands this little monkey headed for her mid day nap while Glenn and Alia headed down to the lake.
When Elle woke up from her nap we walked down to the lake to meet Glenn and Alia, we hung out for another 45 minutes and decided to pack it up and head to the grocery store with a pit stop for ice cream first.
Sorry monkey you’ll get some when you’re a little older.
We got home gave the girls dinner and all spent a little time chilling on the patio before bath time. Alia has been thoroughly enjoying Glenn’s DIY water table. I mean it’s pretty awesome.
After all the sun and outside play the girls where in bed early and Glenn and I enjoyed nachos and a few glasses of wine.
Sunday was fathers day and it was looking like another beautiful day. We had another low-key morning making breakfast giving Glenn his fathers day presents and letting Elle get in a good morning nap at home. We had decided to head to the ocean beach in the afternoon so that would mean her next 2 naps would most likely be in the car or Ergo.
It was our first time testing out the “big beach” with 2 kids so we decided to not push our luck and only stay a little over an hour. Elle slept in the car while driving to the beach and woke up as soon as we arrived ready to dip her toes in the ocean. We ordered a beach tent but it has not arrived yet so my handy husband brought his golf umbrella and set it up perfectly so Elle would have some shade.
Still not so sure about hats .
Other then it being a little windy and the water still being cold it was the perfect beach day. Glenn was the brave one and jumped in the water, the girls and I only made it to our knees.
First time with her toes in the ocean
We packed up it up after just under 2 hours and headed home. But not before someone got hungry and needed to eat rightthissecond. I guess the salty air makes everyone hungry.
Nursing out of the sun in the air conditioning. Sorry environment.
Although the first actual day of summer is today this weekend certainly felt like the first weekend of summer.
It was a wonderful fathers day weekend for the man I could never in my wildest dreams dreamed of having such a great father to my children.
Happy fathers day Glenn. We love you with all our hearts.
Strawberries, sun, water, sand, ice cream, nachos and wine….I call that summertime at it’s finest
Have great week everyone.
