I’m a few weeks late on Elle’s monthly update, summer has been busy and great so far. E turned 7 months old on July 2. People warned me about time going faster with the second baby, boy where they right.
Maybe it’s being the second baby and trying to keep up with her big sister but Elle is a determined little thing. I blame mommy amnesia but I don’t remember Alia being so mobile and squirmy so young. Was she? Changing Elle’s diaper and getting her dressed are like wrestling a baby alligator.
Gone are the days where I can lay E on her back to play on her mat, the girl wants to MOVE, as soon as I lay her down she rolls over, sits up and starts crawling, most likely towards Alia’s toys much to Alia’s dismay.
Her newly discovered skills has meant some bad sleep, some naps have been a bit shorter and a few more wake ups at night, OK a lot more wake ups at night, I read it’s normal for sleep to suffer when they are learning new skills. It took her a few weeks to figure out how to lay back down once she sat herself up in bed. It was both adorable and slightly frustrating.
Could someone lay me back down please?
Elle is eating solid food like a CHAMP, so far she has had banana, peas, avocado, sweet potato, carrots, pears, apples, peaches, strawberries, blueberries, melon, chicken, oats, peanut butter and some of my morning smoothie.
Elle has yet to sleep “through the night” on her best nights she only wakes up once (around 1am) I nurse her and she goes right back to sleep. On bad nights she’s up 3 times, I only feed her once per night but still go in to help soothe her during the other wake ups. She’s never been the best sleeper, Alia started sleeping “through the night” at 9 months, I’m hoping Elle follows suit.
We love you Ellie Belle.
