Let’s have a glass of wine shall we?
If we where drinking wine together right now I would talk about how fast summer is going, I mean how is it July 27 already? I know it’s so cliché to talk about how fast time goes by but I mean it really really does. Our summer has been amazing so far, lots of lake beach days, walks to the playground and just lots of good quality family time.
I would tell you that today is Alia’s last day going to her babysitters house, the same babysitter with the same friends she’s had since she was 1. I’m feeling all sorts of emotions about it. I know she will miss her friends and our wonderful sitter but at the same time I’m excited for her to start preschool in September.
Speaking of preschool, Alia will be attending French preschool in a program that will teach her French to then hopefully continue her education at the all French school. In the biggest #momfail of all time I am French but failed to teach Alia any French, whomp whomp. I know the first few weeks/month will be a big adjustment for her but fingers crossed she likes it. The teachers are amazing and I received great feedback from many of them when we visited the school that many kids start in September not knowing any French and are fully bilingual by the end of the year. Here’s hoping.
Maybe I should use August to start teaching her some basics? Like “please and thank you” and “I need to use the washroom”
If we where drinking wine and chatting right now I would tell you that we are heading to my parents house on Friday to spend a few days with them and my brother. I’m exited for my brother and his girlfriend to get to see the girls again, Alia loves her uncle. With 2 kids and stops it’s about a 6 1/2 hour drive to my parents house. I spend most of that time entertaining in the back seat. But my parents live close to the beach and i’m always so relaxed when I’m there so #worthit.
I would tell you that Elle is becoming quite the little wild one, she has started exploring other rooms meaning if she hears someone in the kitchen she will crawl to see what’s happening in there. She is curious, determined and fast I have already stopped her from eating shoes, electrical wires, the vacuum, the girl is into everything. It’s both hilarious and impossible to get anything done.
I would tell you that my meal planning and making mojo is non existent these days. Most days 4pm rolls around and I realize I have nothing planned for dinner. Glenn often works later in the evenings so on those days we wait and eat together after the girls go to bed. We have been eating A LOT of BBQ chicken, hamburgers, sausages and salad. I blame the busyness of summer for my lack of meal creativity.
And I would finish off by telling you how important it is to always have a change of clothes for a baby with you.
